After comps, I had a much needed respite at the post-exams party. Got to catch up with a lot of people and got to share tales of past and future travels. Now I'm back home and I've just finished packing.

Here's what I ended up taking clothes-wise:

1 pair of jeans (wearing)
1 pair of khaki shorts
1 pair of gym shorts
1 swimming trunks
1 heavy cotton jacket
1 light long-sleeved shirt
2 t-shirts
1 tank top
4 pairs of socks
4 sets of pants/underwear
1 bandana
toiletry set.

I almost brought an extra pair of khakis, a heavy sweater and/or more. But I really wanted to pack light this time. While clothes-wise I think I played it smart, it feels like the pack is still a bit heavy because of the candy in the pack that weights a lot. I hope that resolves itself over time, then.

Re: Clothes
So I think I packed too much toward summer weather and too less toward winter weather. I definitely could've used that heavy winter sweater. Although in the end, I did buy some nice sweaters over there to compensate. The jeans and the jacket were perfect and what I pretty much wore the entire time. Instead of doing laundry, I did buy an extra pair of jeans, though. But that was mostly because I don't own many pairs back home and thought it was a good investment. I wished I had brought more pairs of socks. One pair got wet and I threw them out instead of trying to dry it. I should've brought a blanket and a pillowcase with me, but at least Continental Airlines provided the blanket for me.

This is what I didn't need to bring: both pairs of shorts. The only time weather was pleasant to wear shorts was in Iguazu and I simply didn't wear them even though I should've.

Nonetheless, it was amazing to have my backpack less than half full in the beginning and only weigh about 12 kilos. By the halfway point, I started accumulating too much food and drink and by the time I checked in for the flight home it was 22 kilos.
