The first day I was back, I got a chance to have a meal with Pedro and his family. At first with the meal, I thought, oh wow, that's not much food, but it was really good. We started with pimientos caseros and I never liked peppers before, but wow they were good. Oh and the sardines and clams, good ol' Vigo has a seafood landscape worth taking in. But then we went on to a soup and ham and melon. And finally we had a citrus chicken dish and even carne asada. Can't forget flan and pineapple for dessert. It definitely went well with some vino tinto. It was nice to catch up with the family, and this time it was a very happy meeting and we were all excited to catch up on how life has been going since the last time. After the meal, I hung out with Pedro and Henar and we went to visit various places in Vigo I was familiar with. We hit Playa Samil and new Vigo and a pass through the entire city street grid. Oh Samil. I used to take the bus there in the afternoons just because I had nothing else to do. I loved living so close to the beach.

It was nice to know that even after eight years, I can arrive back there and feel like I'm welcomed there as if I had only been gone for a few days. I felt the same back with Alberto's mother's place. We had a real good meal for dinner. We had langostinos and some nice cheese and wine of course. It was a bit funny because Oscar, the young son asked why we didn't put candles and such for the meal. He was a bit confused as to why I was there, I guess, especially considering that the last time I'd been there was before he was born.

The next few days were a whirlwind of tourism and catching up and doing the huge summer sales that started. With Monchy, Miriam and Oscar, I saw Baiona, had fresh oysters, went to the train station and the saint on the mount. With Pedro, Henar and Pedro's girlfriend, we hit the Old City as well as having tapas and going to a bar on a weekday.
