First off, I had to put my things int he car, get accustomed to the left handed stick shift. That wasn't tough. Directions were pretty clear as well as the roadsigns on the roundabouts tell you which exit to head out on. Unfortunately, google maps confused me a lot because it wanted to take me on side streets through Limerick when I actually was supposed to just take a few roundabouts to the national highway. So instead I just turned the radio station over to talk radio where they were talking about Eurovision, women's rights in Ireland, pub guidelines and birth control
As I tried to follow google maps, I just decided to take a sure bet and take a road that said my destination and followed that. I ended up going the long way and passed the countryside, the peninsular coast, a few cows and passed by various little villages instead. I couldn't complain at all. It lasted a few extra minutes, but because I was ahead of schedule it was a nice little diversion. That's the beauty of having the rental car, I was afforded the opportunity to take the wrong road and wrong turns and not be penalized.
The road to Kinsale was a bit confusing as well, as I got lost in one of the small villages along the way as directions were confusing and it was raining a bit too by then. But in Ireland it rains. Full stop.
