I leave for a mysterious journey into the upper reaches of South America - starting in the tropical Bogotá. I almost was able to get a free travel voucher because the flight was oversold. Unfortunately some guy missed his connection and I was forced to boardthe plane. I still would've made the international flight regardless. On the plane it was just alright. The tv sets were messed up and choppy, but at least the music was alright. And the food was nominal. It was pretty much nothing.
After debarking from the plane, I had to wait forever for my backpack. At least my backpack still doesn't weigh that much. But once I got through customs, I realised that I had left my colombia guide book on the plane, and that had the address of my hostel. So I had to go back and forth to find the tiny delta office forluggage concerns and force them to retrieve it for me. In reality,I could've easily found the address, but I was a bitworried that I had purchased a book for colombia and would have had to travel without it. Lucky me, but that took an extra hour time. And it also allowed me to figure out the taxi situation over at the airport. It was a bit dodgy since taxi drivers went to where the cars picked up people and woudl whisper. I also got a crap exchange rate but I couldn't find an ATM and had to deal with the taxi right away. And going through some bad neighborhoods was fun at night. There were so many streets where the entireblock was forsale andno one had lights on. I felt safe, but it was just an artifact of the disparity over here in bogotá.

No I'm at the hostel about to eat pizza espanola and trying to catch up with everything that happens with acclimitazation to a new place. My hips hurt a bit, but they don't lie, shakira, shakira.
I shall have fun tonight and then later on tomorrow with the fairs!
Also my spanish isn't too shabby at all. had easy timecommunicating with others.
