The meet is over in the morning, just cleaning and leaving for Vienna. Not enough cars for everyone, so some of us will take bus back in - about 45 min. ride. Today was as hot as everyday. The idea of going north is gone ,as everyone who has showed up from the northern countries says it is boiling everywhere. Oh Well, so sticking to previous plan. Vienna until Wed., then Prague 3 days, then trains through part of Germany toward Basal, Switzerland for flight to Barcelona, train to Madrid, flight to Paris, and that gets me to 3rd week in August.
Going back to last night, the party I mentioned. Well get this. They bring out a water pipe, light it up and people start smoking. After a while I ask Vince
"what are the laws in Austria for that",
he laughs, "that is not marijuana- it is tobacco, orange flavor"
"no, we have restaurants that have water pipes in them"
Who would have thought, I had no idea, I thought only places like India had such
Now this party, I go to bed about 2am, and it was just getting started evidently. I say evidently because around 6am people are moving around in the gym, dressing- undressing , moving about. So I think it must be time to get up (I guess it is about 9am) and I'm thinking "boy this group can party and still get up and work". I get up, get dressed, go to kitchen, eat breakfast, ask someone what time it is- 6:30am, WHAT - and not only that, but the ones in the kitchen have not been to bed and the ones in the gym are just going to bed. Basically the morning is not going to happen and I am wide awake. So some say they are going to pool around 8am, get bathing suit on. Then others say pool doesn't open until 10am. Well by then I decide to chance it and go anyway. The pool sign read 9am, so I went to a park across the street and laid down. When the pool opened I went in and fell asleep on a lounge. I did not wake up until after lunch. Stayed until 6pm when Eric asked me to go help him cook some chicken. Everyone has been cooking things from their countries. He is from USA ,so we went with southern fried chicken. As soon as the plate hit the counter it was empty, 3 plates full. Taught Ben how to make it, and of course photographed the event.
Hope this finds all well,
