Mui Ne is one of the stranger places we've visited, in so far as there really isn't town, just a 10km stretch of beach with resorts, hotels and restaurants barely a shop in sight. Theres a fishing village at one end but basically its a taxi/motorbike ride to get anywhere so we stuck to the area around our hotel. Sadly the weather was rubbish for the whole time there and the beautiful beach went to waste overall. On one day we managed to get to see the sand dunes which were cool enough and we did some good sand boarding on the dunes. The one flaw in it was where there were footprints which meant a bit of strain on the midriff and various bits and pieces below that.
One slightly surreal episode was the playing of Westlife's greatest hits in its entirety during dinner one evening. Frighteningly it turns out that this is the most popular type of music in Vietnam. Seems the entire country consists of people with the emotions of 16 year old girls!
And so on to Nha Trang for another attempt at beach time, feeling just a little like we wasted our time here.
