Returning to Phnom Penh on a bus with the least amount of knee space was tough enough but somehow we survived. This time we found accommodation nearer to the central area. While in town we took in the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek where thousands of people met their untimely ends, being buried in mass graves. They've left the holes from the graves they've excavated and its ridiculous to think of the sheer brutality of it all. In the centre of the area they've built a large stupa memorial with layers of skulls which were excavated...graphic. The whole thing just leaves you a little cold really.

Having taken in all of that we had a late enough night on the town before leaving the next day we left on the direct bus to Ho Chi Minh City and our fifth country of this trip, Vietnam. By some immense fortune the border crossing went easier than any we've ever taken and hey presto we arrived in Ho Chi Minh City an hour early.
