Entry 7 of 24 | show all | print this entry

Ok, so I now have a routine here in Xela. Get up, got to breakfast, get served food I cant eat (today it was eggs and hot dogs-the foods I am most allergic to...aka hate), pretend to enjoy it while I look for places to hide it, go to class for 5 hours, go to the internet cafe (2 hours for .50), go walk around and hang out at the bank, do some studying, try to eat dinner, go study some more, decide I am going to take some pictures, take some pictures, put the camera back in my room, and go study again. Seriously, its kind of monotonous, I know it will get better when I can actually do some volunteer work and there are more people studying. I can go through a whole day and only see 3 tourists the whole time. Its weird.
The air is kind of polluted, mainly because the cars are so old, but its good because they dont like pedestrians here, so you can hear and smell the cars coming a mile a way so you know when to bust your butt to get across the street.
Today Larry (the 70 year old friend from Arizona) brought me a sweater to borrow for the week because I was so cold. I love that Larry. You seriously dont appreciate indoor heating until you dont have it.
I thought that I wouldn{t have much time to post blogs, but as it turns out, its the most lucrative part of my day (besides the Spanish classes). We have done 10 hours of the past, regular and irregular verbs, and I can now say what I did yesterday without sounding like I am talking about myself in the third person. My teacher is really good, he has been doing this stuff for years, so he knows what he is doing. I am the only one who doesnt.
Anyway, I am late for my random walk, so I must jet. And if any of you have any ideas of how I can keep myself occupied for the next three days, I would love to hear them. I suck at travelling by myself.
b:)

Hope you had a good holiday in Guatemala, how was New Year's? Mine was boring, in bed at 12:30. Christmas wore me out.

Anyways, what's new? When do you and Alejendro plan to marry? I hope you start meeting more people, cuz I was really sad when I heard you were lonely. I miss you!! I'm sitting here at work at 10am listening to my iPod play the best of Motown, mourning the sudden and ... show all
