Hello Everyone...

And Happy New Year, Vietnam style. Today is Tet here in Vietnam and we are in Hue. It is home to the Citadel of Hue which is a world heritage site. We survived another overnight train ride, and actually had two very entertaining cabin mates from Hungary. We spent the better portion of our awake hours on the train learning more about Hungary and some of the challenges it faces as a nation.

We anticipated a lot of difficulties related to Tet as we had been warned time and again of everything being closed, but thus far we have dodged any problems. Tomorrow we are heading to Hoi An. It will be our fourth world heritage site of the trip. For those of you keeping score at home: Angkor Wat, Ha Long Bay, Complex of Hue, and soon the Ancient city of Hoi An.

I must mention one thing, it felt very weird, almost awkward, to walk around Hue today knowing that back in 1968, Americans were not casually strolling around the city, but fighting a bruising battle for control of this city that lasted almost a month.

Hope all is well
Bry and Deb
