Hello from Phonpei...

We had a nice time in Truk where we made 7 dives on 6 different Japanese ships from WWII. They were much better than I would have thought they would be. There was a lot of hard and soft coral growing on them plus we got to see tanks, trucks, guns, torpedos, ammunition, sake and medicine bottles, china, pots, pans, etc. We even saw human bones on one dive... quite eerie. Unfortunately this computer will also not allow us to upload pics for you guys to see.

The most surprising thing that we saw were a pod of dolphins after our first dive one day... we all jumped in and they swam and danced around us for a while. Then, after they swam off a bit one of the other divers told me to look down (a very interested shark about 5 foot down from me gazing up!) I didn't have anything but my bathingsuit and mask so I felt a little uncomfortable to say the least. Luckily, Bryan saved the day (or so he thinks)... he jumped in with my fins and snorkel. The dive master told us that the sharks follow the dolphins to pick up any scraps they may leave. Thankfully, he didn't think I looked too tasty. That was actually the first time I was scared of a shark this entire trip.

Anyway, we are now in Phonpei where we will go visit waterfalls and Nan Madol (ancient ruins) tomorrow and then check out the reef on Wednesday.

Goodbye for now. Not too many more days and we will be back to reality! We have not had TV or any type of current news in several weeks - anything that we pick up is at least a week old.
