It doesn't seem like four months ago since we started planning this road trip to get Twin Souls to Spain for the Summer and now here we are on our way!

9:00 am - Car packed up to roof just enough space to squeeze Debz into the back! No chance of anything extra being brought back at the end of summer to Debz disappointment (no shopping).

9:15 am - Journey begins from Sherburn. First panic of the day Shirl rings Bryan to say the girls had left behind one of their costumes but not to worry because they were dirty and sweaty anyway! (The costumes not the girls that is!)
9:45 am - Arrival at Gildersome to pick up Sir Bryan. Caroline then sets us up with lots of sweets and sends us on our way after Bryan forgets to hug her bye!! Good start! Claire drives the first stint but after an hour decides she is too tired and has to stop for a cuppa at Trowell Services

11:30 am - Toilet/ tea break at Trowell Services. Started as we will mostly likely continue - making a mess everywhere spilling milk and tea all over the table and on Sir Bryans shoes!

Debz then takes over the driving seems to have a problem with braking as Bryan nearly ended up through the windscreen. Though in Debz defence she did rather half heartedly put her arm out to save him! Thanks Debz.
During this stint Claire has a snooze in the back despite saying she would drive most of the way! Deb powered through for a good 3 hours and then decided to share with the rest of that she had a sweaty bum! Lovely!! But in honesty everyone owned up to feeling the same!!

Crisis point at approximately 1pm Sir Bryan's AA route and the girls' SAT NAV had a slight disagreement whether to leave the M1 or not! Sir Bryan wins the day over technology!! Perhaps he won't be as confident in Spain.
2:15 pm Lunch break at Chieveley Services - Ham cheese paninis mmmmm. Little did we know this would be our last decent meal for 2 days!! Time to continue but not before a quick toilet visit where Sir Bryan finds out it's not only woman who can multi-task as he stands next to a man who can have a wee  and answer his phone at the same time. He found this fascinating and decided to share this new found knowledge with the girls who then told Shirl who found it disgusting!! However after this incident Debz goes to the toilet and her phone rings, she quickly answers to say she'll ring back but it's not quite as challenging for Debz as it was for the man!!!
Claire then takes over the driving for the last stint to Portsmouth.
4:00 pm Arrival at Portsmouth! Bryan has panic when can not find passport but after rummaging through his bag it was found while check in lady waited patiently! Can't take him anywhere!

Whilst waiting in long queue to board we decide to prepare the car for Spain. Debz completes her task of sticking a GB sticker on the back of the car. What a tough job but only just within her capabilities!! Meanwhile Claire and Sir Bryan struggle to attach a sticker to headlights as there are 6 pages of instructions with diagrams for different cars! Nobody knew which the dipped headlight was! Task still not completed too hard after long journey.
4:59 pm Drove on board after blasting out cheesy tunes to annoy others around while waiting! By the time we got on deck after parking car the ship had already set sail!! No sea sickness yet! Sea still calm.

5:10 pm Explore ship.
5:11 pm Finish exploring ship!
5:12 pm Found bar. Time for a well earned drink!!

6:00 pm  Food time. Well what can we say  - it was food .....just. It was edible.....just. Was it cooked?? .....just!!!
7.30 pm Time for the cinema, we decide for "Monsters V Aliens"  and just managed to stay awake. Nearly missed the middle but not quite!!  The cinema wasn't exactly The Showcase - it seated 40 people. Sea getting a little rougher.
9:15 pm Back to the bar ready for the nights supposed entertainment. The first Cabaret was a double act called Face to Face, who were the doubles of Pete Waterman and Gillian Taylforth. Fortunately, she had a better voice. Next up was Buzz D'Angelo, a James Brown tribute act- a sex machine ??  Maybe not. And finally, quite possibly the worst magician ever seen - the quiz machine seemed so much more appealing. It was getting more difficult to walk in a straight line - rough sea rather than alcohol.

Sir Bryan discovered one of the advantages of travelling with two young blondes, when free drinks arrived courtesy of some bloke at the bar !!
11.30 pm - Everybody  decided to call it a night. It had been a long day and the cabins beckoned.  If there had been a cat there would have been just enough room to swing it.
