While Bill was at the conference yesterday, Teresa did her homework and discovered that lunch and the market in Italy and dinner in Monaco was not only a great idea but a real possibility.
We took the tram north to the Nice station and boarded our train to Italy. It is amazingly close, less than one hour, and filled with scenic vistas along the Cote de Azur and the French Riviera. Even from the train the water was clear enough to see stones through the light waves lapping the shore.
Friday is market day in Ventimiglia, which the French call Vinnemelle, and the French know how to get there via train on Fridays. The day was clear and sunny and full of great clothes, accessories, food, and household items. We snacked on panini sandwiches, sipped cappucinos, and enjoyed vino rossi along the terrace. After loading a backpack full of gifts for the kids, we hopped the return train with a stop planned in Monaco along the way.
