The Caribbean island of St. Maartin / St. Martin is both Dutch and French. With both nations inside of the EU (and frankly not worrying about much of anything in this dual-province island for years), natives of both descendants cross international boundaries freely and multiple times during the day on this Island. We dined in a French cafe with crepes and sparkling wine and later went to the beach near the airport, watching the planes land overhead and nearby. A lovely island.
