Free time and while some opted for horse riding or a good walk up to the Martial Glacier on one of the local mountains to see down over Ushasia and the Beagle Channel, I was feeling so much better that at least a 3 hour flattish coastal walk in the Tierra del Fuego National Park was to be my plan. I could have taken an expensive tourist type day trip but the local "i” gave me instructions how to get to the National Park with one of the 7 private bus operators.

Took my passport and got it stamped - cheap tourist trap but the stamp took up a whole page.

Instead of just doing the 3 hours coastal walk, I ended up walking for 6 hours along some of the extra tracks. It was neat to be out of the city. This National Park is only 11 kms away let it felt like a different world. The sun was out and wind had all but gone in most of the park.

Got close to the Chilean border plus stood at Argentina National Route 3 being the end of the Pan Amercian highway. Next stop Alaska nearly some 18,000 km away?

This pleasant day's outing only cost me 65 pesos (US $15, NZ $20) park entry fee + 70 pesos for the return mini bus trip.
