At 9 am the bus left Puerto Natalas for the neighbouring larger Puerto Arenas. It was only a 3 hour drive. By now I was glad to end up in a warm 4 star hotel and immediately went back to bed again. Mid afternoon a hot soak in a smallish bath helped. As it was still very cold and windy outside, I decided not to go with the rest of the group at 4 pm and see the penguins. In fact I stayed in bed, skipped dinner and realised at 10 pm that I was carrying with me 3 packets of Chinese herbal medicine. The hotel restaurant provided me with some lemon and honey so I had several cups of hot drink. This was the start of the recovery process. Thanks Mira.

Another 9 am departure and as previously indicated on our trip notes coupled with a lengthy border crossing from Chile back into Argentina, it was well after 8 pm when we finally pulled into Ushasia, the city at the end of the earth!
Some saw dolphins as crossed the flat Magellan Strait by ferry.
The landscape at the bottom of South America in both Chile and Argentina was really bleak and the few photos that I took of animals were far inbetween.
Further south now and with daylight till 10.30 - 11 pm ish, we had a lovely dinner overlooking the bay where the city sits.
