Here are the images that I took from the top of Sugar Loaf. As I had carted my new Benrow tripod around town with me today, I had better start using it and take some HDR images. Will add here the HDR images once processed.

Getting off at the Botafogo metro station I thought that was walking in the right direction. Yes, I had checked my map on exiting the station but ... but after a while realised that something wasn't right. I was heading inland instead of towards the sea! Asking some locals to show me where I was on my map proved unsuccessful and a school teacher came to my rescue. Gosh, how could I have done that. Next time take a compass!

This was a wonderful way to finish the first day here in Rio, to spend so many hours watching the colours below me slowly change as the city eventually transformed with its twinkling lights. No sunset to speak of and the clouds where still hiding Corcovado from view.
