Day 2. Because it was Christmas Day and the South Americans celebrate it on Christmas Eve, the 9.30 am ferry was cancelled.
A few bonus hours to relax at Campamento Antares and a short trip in the van in order to catch the mid day ferry to get to our next campsite. It meant that instead of an all day trek, we had to accept a reduce schedule.

This "End of the earth" GAP trip was undertaking just the highlights of the "W" circuit.

I think the wind in fact at times reached 100 kph and blew not only mine but other beanies off. This region is known for the winds so ....

Somewhere around here I started to go downhill. Been coughing for a few days now. So the 7 hour walking day was enough for me. I am glad that we didn‘t undertake the planned all day 12 - 13 hour day. It wasn’t helped that a bone on my ankle was rubbing on the boots so I made sure today that I had my Crocs with me. Because of this 2 night camping bit, we were only allowed to take a duffle bag of spare clothes etc so I had left my runners behind in Puerto Natalas. Runners would have been better than Crocs but they did the trick.

Hot shower before Christmas Dinner of herbal chicken.
