Up early and took the boat to San Carlos, then a bus on the very rough road to Jugicalpa. It was 5 hours of bumping along the road, but the advantage was that we passed through lots of villages and saw women washing clothes and cattle herding. This area was definitely cattle country! The problem was that many of the group were ill with upset stomachs, so the bus did have to stop a few times. We arrived at the hotel at about 3.30pm and as there was time, took a 25 min stroll into the town. It was very similar to the small towns in Honduras, and we found the central square to have a beer at, and had a nice ice cream as we walked around. We met Tony at the museum, and there were lots of pre-columbian statutes outside the main entrance (sorry, didn't have my camera).
