Stopped to see the Moses Spring, where Moses was said to tap the rock and out flowed water. This is in Moses Town which is the town at the entrance to Petra. I would have to say that all the Muslim guides we have met seem to know more about the Old Testament than the average Christian.
Off to Shobak Castle which is a Crusader castle that Saladin finally defeated in about 1100AD. Very interesting but absolutely freezing! Maybe 5 or 6oC and really, really windy. The photos probably show how cold we were.
Next was the Dead Sea. This was a short stop, as even though it is about 400m below sea level and a lot warmer than at Shobak or Petra, it was still a little cool for us. And the water is very salty (obviously) and makes you itchy and the pools were too cold. Anyway, floating in the Dead Sea, tick!
Finally into Amman. As it was our final night as a group we went to a fantastic restaurant and had a traditional Jordanian dinner. Luckily we only ordered for 6 people because there was a huge amount of food that we couldn't even get close to finishing. It was very delicious though.
