Day 5 - Sat 25th April
Karijini National Park, Dales Camp Ground

Time was not of interest today as we headed down to Fortescue Falls for an early morning dip from Dales Camp Ground. I had had a terrible nights sleep and could hear the dingo's howl for most of the night. It must have been fairly early as the area was void of tourists. Under the waterfall I finally woke up and then we headed through Dales Gorge for an hour or so talking to people on the way. There was a stunning array of colour to the various Dragon-flys we saw; red ones, violet ones, multi coloured polka-dot ones. The gorge walk ended at Circular Pool. There we went for a dip and Mark took a picture of a small python before his camera battery went flat.

Taking the steep ascent out of the gorge to head straight back to camp ground we had lunch with the flys and found Mark's second battery for his camera. Wondering around the tracks we admired the massive spider webs and gum trees. Returning to Fortescue Falls and headed out the gorge to Fern's Pool that was full of fish. All that was missing was a stunning bikini model sitting on the iron ore rocks.....hummmm.

After dinner, cooked and enjoyed before 6pm sunset after our learning from the night before, we got chatting to a Croatian couple and enjoyed their wiskey. It was both there second marriage. He left his wife after growing apart from her, he was desperate to travel, she wasn't. Where as his new wife was a widow married to his best friend. Sounds a little suspect, but they declare not......

Back at camp we had an accident overturning our cool-box, losing all our cold water and the small ice block left. Normally you would be able to get some ice from round the corner right. Wrong, we are in the middle of a frigin national park. No shops here. Were we to drink all the beers while they where cold?
