Day 31. Muay Thai
15/5/08
Marjan, Roanna and I all headed to Chiang Mai in the morning, albeit Roanna on a different bus. That night after a great feed at Rotana's kitchen we hit the Muay Thai boxing night. The standard wasn't high and they were mostly kids. Cocktails were enjoyed and at half time it was ready for the 4 blind folded boxers to have it out for a round, hilarious! The girls pushed me on after midnight to a pub then a club. Unfortunately I could handle no more so I left them to it at ~2am.
Day 32. Upsetting News
16/5/08
The girls left, I moved guesthouses and then hired a bike to get around the old city. The rain was on and off. I felt like the only westerner when I visited the Warorot Markets. The produce stalls made me feel sick, I could not place the disgusting smell. The shopping center was next, checking out the prices ready for the night markets. But I did find 2 nice T-shirts that I purchased.
In the evening I bought cotton baggy pants and combats. When I got home after a massive Haag Daaz ice-cream (berry, banoffee & Belgian Choc) I realised my combats didn't fit me. That I found out was only the best news of the evening as it went down hill from there. Shannon called my room with a double dose of bad news.
Day 33. Skulking Around
17/5/08
In stayed till the night markets opened where I exchanged my combats. Heading to the train station I found out there were no more local trains to Lampang ~1 hr away. So I had to make a on the spot decision. It was made, scrap the cultural trail. Instead take the night train to Bangkok and head to Koa Phan Gan for the Full Moon Parties!
