So begins my (Jonathan) adventure. After an expensive train ride to Bari from Rome and then a 16 hr ferry ride to Patra and then a 3 hr bus ręde, i finally made it to Athens, Greece. Along the way met some real nice Canadians and was assisted by numerous Greeks. After finding my way to the hostel, I met a few roomates and we made our way to check out the Acropolis at sunset and have some dinner (what would turn out to be the first of many trips to a local gyro restuarant). It was a nice start to my short stay in Athens. After drinks ęnside the hostel (it rained all night) with, you guessed it, some Aussies staying there, I made my way to bed for an early morning.

I started the day with some Greek expresso to get me ready to tackle all I had in front of me. I started with the Acropolis, then made my way to a nearby hill węth a nice view and ancient monument I will try to remember later. Next I made my way over to the Temple of Olympian Zeus and a nice park. I ended the afternoon exploring the National Archealogical Museum. The best part, all of this was free because it was a world Heritage Day or something or rather. I visited the Ancient Agora before it closed in the evening and then ended the night viewing the city and the nearby Madonna concert from the top of Lycabettus Hill. Now onto the islands.
