Passports? Check. Shots? Check. Malaria Meds? Check. Tiny Solar Powered LED flashlight? Check. After countless hours of making lists and traversing travel stores, we're about ready to hit the road. This is our (very) rough itinerary...
September 3: We leave from Seattle for Santiago, Chile.
Sept to early Nov: Travel south through Chile, crossing over the Andes into Argentina to arrive in Buenos Aires by November.
Nov: Travel through Uruguay and into Paraguay
Dec: Cross through Bolivia, into Northern Chile, and then up into Peru
Jan: Explore Peru and make our way to Ecuador
Feb: Cross back through Peru for an Amazon River excursion
Feb through March: Make our way to Panama and through Central America
End of March: Arrive in Mazatlan, Mexico to spend time with Eli's parents, who live in Maz
May 8: Tentative flight date back to Seattle!
PHEW! Now, we'll see how much this plan resembles our actual trip. Thanks for all your words of encouragement and well wishes. Please keep in touch, and we'll try to keep up our end of the bargain with this blog.
Much love

Endless Summer
Sounds like you've got the makings of a good movie there!
I'll look forward to hearing about the vengeful crocodiles, giant tarantulas, blow-dart wielding natives, monster-truck-driving drug dealers, cancer-curing jungle plants, and, of course, the chicken and goat filled country buses in future blogs.
Don't disappoint!!
