Diane and I awoke early this morning. We packed the car for our 3 - 1/2 hour drive to our home Marksville, LA. We told Scott goodbye and thanked them for their hospitality. We departed Scott's home at 0630 hours.
Traffic was light this morning. We stopped in Gonzales, LA for a Louisiana style breakfast, which we enjoyed. The Cajun coffee was tasty as well.
We arrive at our home around 1100 hours. What a wonderful site for sore eyes. The grass needed cutting but that would be fixed in a couple of days.
Overall our trip was successful, in that, our goal was to see my son, Randy, whom we had not seen in seven years and to do some site seeing in that part of the world. We managed to accomplish both. The trip was a good travel experience as well as an educational one. We got to see other people's cultures and lifestyles.
Diane will have some first hand experience and photo's to show her elementary school students about Asian life and cultures.
We are now signing off for this trip.
I would like to thank Randy for his hospitality and acting as our personal tour guide, translator and financial negotiator in dealing with the Asian natives. They have a tendency to take advantage of the dumb "Farang" (Foreigner).
