My son Scott drove us to the New Orleans airport and dropped us off at the Continental Airlines boarding gate. We checked in, went through security then went sit at the departure gate waiting for our flight. We boarded the aircraft for a local flight to Houston, where we caught an international flight to Tokyo, Japan. This was a 14 hour non-stop butt blistering flight. The flight took a Northerly path through Canada past the Arctic Circle then Westerly until we reached Russian territory then turned South through Siberia down to Japan, where we landed for a much needed stretch and a short layover, awaiting our next flight to Bangkok, Thailand.
About two hours later we boarded another international flight to Bangkok. We were really tired by then, however, our seats on this flight were a little more comfortable, and this flight lasted only five and one half hours.
Upon our arrival in Bangkok, after 25 hours of flying time, and 7,400 mile trip, my son, Randy greeted us at the airport exit gate. It was a warm greeting, as we had not seen each other in over seven years. We then took a taxi for transport to Randy's condominium. We visited for a few minutes then hit the bed for a much needed nights sleep and rest.
