Well folks- my new school has been decided!
Starting next Monday, I will be teaching at Ibukidai Junior High school instead of Tomogaoka Junior High school.
I visited the school yesterday and got the run down from the current ALT who is working there. Here are some of the differences that I noticed:
* Ibukidai is over twice the size of Tomogaoka ( I will have over 1000 students there, and at Tomogaoka I had only 490)
* Ibukidai is in the opposite direction of Tomogaoka, but still only 2 stops from the train station where I live (Gakuentoshi)
* Ibukidai is super close to the station- maybe a 3 minute walk- whereas Tomogaoka was a good 15 minute walk from the station- entirely UPHILL!
* Ibukidai has bikes! ! ! [we borrowed them and went for a ride around the area]
While I am stoked to be so much closer to the station,

I am a little bummed to be teaching further away from the city, and to be working at such a large school. When roaming the grounds with the current ALT- we ran into some students but they seemed like strangers. She couldn't call them by name and sometimes didn't even know what grade they were in. I will definitely miss the intimacy that I have with the students at Tomogaoka.
