Yay it's my birthday! no worries- I still don't look a day over 12, though when asked to guess I have gotten 27 from a number of students. Hmmm- I suppose that would make Alana 30....?

Have no fear- the folks here are taking good care of me for my birthday. A handful of concerned JETs organized a weekend get-together in my honor. We met in Sannomiya for dinner and then a night of dancing. It was a great opportunity to see a lot of people that I haven't seen in a while. Now today for my real birthday those same sweet folks are insisting we go out for dinner again. We're going to go have yaki-niku (korean barbeque) not too far away. I've also received various texts and e-cards throughout the day making me feel extra special- in this dreary school setting. Unfortunately I was not allowed to throw myself a birthday party at school so the celebration will have to wait until I return home.
