I believed people before when they talked about the ruts of this job- but I never fully understood them. Now perhaps I do...

It's only been a 4 day week but I still cannot wait for it to end. I can't say I've been too busy, because I've just started to have free periods. I can't say I've been bored, cause I was booked all day at the beginning of the week. I'm not sure what it is- but I'm exhausted and looking for entertainment.

It's been raining for over 24 hours and the forecast predicts rain all weekend :( Yippy! Rain at home was one thing- when I could curl up with a good book in a cozy bed, lie around in front of the TV, or even bake a couple batches of my special chocolate chip cookies. Rain was even okay in Minneapolis when I could escape to the Mall of America and waste away the day inside or go watch a movie (or three) at block E for $3 a pop Mr. Yoga Instructor

. But here things are different. Since everything is done via public transportation, I hardly want to go out in the rain. When the subway stations get wet the stairs become a dangerous hazard, mold starts to grow, and everyone gets wet on the train off of each other's umbrellas. I don't have a TV or an Oven in my apartment, or even a cozy bed... so even that gets old after a while.

So on top of a long week of difficult classes where the students refuse to ask questions, even if they have no clue what I am talking about... I am pooped AND dreading the weekend. Of course any person still in their sane mind would suggest I use this time to be creative! Sure- why don't I knit a sweater (just as soon as I find yarn and some needles- oh wait I don't know how to knit...) , or how about I study Japanese (mmhmm- me in my little apartment- drawing kanji over and over until I can't remove the pencil from my grip), maybe I could write a book (haha- you've all read this travel log- let's be serious), so perhaps I will just sleep. I will sleep all day, and all night. I will love sleeping! I will sleep until I can't sleep anymore and then it will be 3am which is perfect time to talk to anyone in the States!

Superb! No you don't have to worry- I'm not suffering. I'm just slowing starting to go crazy (or perhaps I should say I am becoming 'more crazier!' More faster! More madder- more madder! Mad as a hatter! More madder! hehe- yup! She's definitely lost it! If she ever had it....

Weekend boredom
Wow - you don't know when you are well off...try being bored at the weekend in Saudi Arabia. No fun, no freedom, no beer, no rain, nothing. How can you be bored in Japan?!!! Great blog - very entertaining. I'm moving to Kobe next year (all being well).
