After 4 days of "intensive" Japanese courses a friend (Amber) and I decided to hit up the harbor and enjoy ourselves after such hard work. We went down and sat on the steps in a park area overlooking the harbor. There were pigeons galore and they weren't afraid to walk right up to us. There was also a homeless man wearing 3 pair of pants, I only know this because he had to remove them all in order to relieve himself in the bay right in front of us. (sorry no picture) I have included some pictures of the infamous Kobe Tower. I've asked a number of people what it is for but no one seems to know. Just for decoration they tell me. As we sat talking at the port we were able to see many ships come and go. The pigeons seemed to be clued in on the arrival of certain ships, maybe which ships carried tourists that would feed them... I'm not sure. But at the sound of a certain ship's arrival (each ship blew a different horn when docking at the port) all of the pigeons (except for 1 or 2) would fly off to that ship. I also learned that there must be some deaf pigeons...
