MONDAY, 8th January
It was still raining and with two days to go before we leave for the east coast it did not look like we were going to visit Old South Wales. Not much point in gazing over the welsh valleys in the mist and the rain.
TUESDAY, 9th January
I washed the car today and of course it did not rain did it! I am so unfit. I was exhausted after that job. To Sainsbury's to buy some bits and pieces from whence I dropped Anne off at the top of St Catherines Hill in order that she might walk down to find her wool shop. I went to the library after lunch but the system was down for maintenance. I posted a package home and picked up a Trafalgar catalogue which had my picture in it...just my head. I made calls to the Richmond couple and an old friend of mine who used to live in Sydney but now resided near Great Yarmouth to let them know we were on the way.
WEDNESDAY, 10th January
Another day of inactivity and reflection. The latter about going home to Sydney. We were both a tad homesick and considered the next few weeks to be just biding our time which would be a little unfair to our new host in Bradwell, Great Yarmouth if they knew. We had a terrific Chinese meal from the takeaway around the corner. It was such good quality. Far superior to the one we had in Edinburgh and better than many Aussie meals that I had always thought to be the best. Chinese food in China of course just does not compare to the western version.
