Hi Everyone. Greetings from Civitavecchia..which is a city/port about 45 min from Rome. Today we woke up early and the boat was pulling into the dock. We had our breakfast delivered to the room, got dressed and met our group for our private train into Rome. We could have done a different excursion, but decided to just take the train in and walk around ourselves. So we boarded an express train where Daniel our tour guy talked to us about Rome, what we might like to see, what to look out for, etc...after getting off the train we went to St. Peters Square and picked a meeting spot, only about 20 people did the train.
Julie and I decided to walk from St. Peters Square to Trastevere which is a pocket of Rome south of the Vatican. It was in the 90s here today so we walked the narrow quant streets and tried to stay in the shade. We ate at a local restaurant and had a nice lunch, then decided to go to the Colosseum. Along the way we saw a lot of the ruins from ancient Rome, pretty amazing. We took the train back to the boat, then off to the Spa. We both had much needed massages right before dinner and it was much needed after all the walking we did. After dinner we went to the Casino for a few minutes, lost a couple of bucks and decided to call it a night.

Pictures are not uploading that might just have one or two from each stop.

Right now we are sailing to the Amalfi Coast which we will reach in the morning. I already ordered my smoke salmon breakfast to be delivered to the room and we are ready for bed.

Miss you all. Brian and Julie
