Our day started slow because of the heavy rain.  After a great European-style breakfast (Muesli, cheese, ham, toast, etc) we headed up to Hallstatt to visit the salt mine.  The rain turned light when we arrived.  We had a good time in the salt mines.  The kids really enjoed the slides used to descend the various levels.  The last and longest slide had a speed gun on it.  Alycia hit 54 kph while most people were going about 30.  She compained that it wasn't fast enough.

After the salt mine we grabbed lunch at a local pizzeria (yes, again) in Hallstatt then headed further south to Dachstein.  We were too late in the day to do both the ice caverns and the top of the mountain, so on the advice of several people chose to go to the top.  We mixed in with a semi-professional Scottish soccer team (Greenock Morton football club), who seemed to keep Trey entertained for the Dachstein part of our day.  After two cable car rides, we reached the summit and hiked about 15 minutes to the Five Fingers, which are platforms built out off of the cliff so you can stand over the open air.  The clouds cleared for a few minutes to allow a few pics before closing back in.

After resting for a while (and a run, of course) back at the B&B, Cindy and I ventured out on foot into town to get some pastries. Everything pretty much shuts down at night, but the pizzeria we ate at yesterday was open.  We sat for a while eating dessert and drinking coffee before returning to the B&B with desserts for the kids.
