After a disappointing trip to Acadia National Park yesterday (It was still closed) we went down to Bar Harbor. I didn't know anything about this place but as we got to the seafront it became apparent that it was a tourist hot spot. It was rammed. It reminded me of Amity in the Jaws film.
We had a Lobster pizza and didn't stay long. Rode up to Bangor and spent the night there.

The next morning we got on the nice fast flowing 202 and rode to Wiscasset. There was a huge queue coming from 'Reds' Lobster place. Would have loved to stop and get something from there but it would have meant an hour queuing. We were later told that it's just a tourist trap and not that great anyway.
Over the road was a similar place but it had somewhere to park and benches to sit at. We opted for that one.
We both stood waiting in line for the gross toilet with the coke can floating in the crap for about 10 minutes. If the toilet is that bad you would have thought people would be in and out but it seemed they were reading the bloody paper or something in there.
We ordered up some Crab rolls as they aren't as common as the Lobster. I got a local 'Captain Eli's' Blueberry pop which was delicious. The Crab rolls were too. The bread was toasted to perfection and just crispy enough.
They had lots to choose from like Clams and Chowder etc. Lots of people here but not as popular as across the road.
After a nice relaxing lunch we headed for Freeport along the 1. It's a retail shopping nightmare. Stacks of outlet shops and bag ladened entitled bitches every where. Even more frappe latte hemp wearing hippies.
There is a huge JJ Bean there which apparently is a famous outdoor shop. Never heard of it.
Michelle went into the Patagonia store to get some sort of thermal top thing. She was taking forever so I sat downstairs and read some books while watching Patagonia relief rich people of there easily earned cash.

Tonight we were going to be staying with a friend of a friend. Molly had ridden in Newfoundland and had met Tammy who we stayed with. She had invited us down to stay so that's what we did.
We tried to follow Molly's directions as best we could but still got lost and ended up on a gnarly rough track in the forest. I knew this wasn't right so Shell called Molly again and found out we had past the correct turning. Turning the bikes around on a rough rooty thin steep track wasn't easy.
Finally got to the farm and Molly greeted us with a wave. Even Booger and Badger the dogs came out to say hello. Went into the house and met all the family friends and workers. The young girls seemed really chatty. I thought teenage girls didn't talk, only text shit about the Kardashians.
A Chicken and Squash dinner was laid out almost immediately for us. It was really filling and I as stuffed. Really nice of them to feed us.
We all chatted for ages then Molly showed us around. We could either spend the night in the haunted smelly school bus which has been there 25 years of the cute little cabin. I think we'll take the cabin.
We spent the night telling stories around the camp fire with Molly. She's had a really interesting life. She has traveled all over the world and even went to save the orangutans with her daughter. Her daughter was rustling up poachers when she was twelve !
She's got a great sense of humour which became more apparent when her ass went through the chair she was sitting on.
We went back to the cabin about 11pm. I enjoyed the stars on the way back. Not much light pollution around here.
When laying in bed I could hear scratching on the walls. Just hope it's not on the inside as I was laying at ground level and dealing with a rat right now is the last thing I need.
