Up at 7.30 and feeling a little better this morning. Yesterday wasn't such a rush and I had a good cozy nights sleep in the sleeping bag.

Coffee at Cafe De Las Vinas and away at 8.30. Rode straight into a mini Grand Canyon, it look like a giant alien ant farm. Lots of sweeping curves and smooth dry roads. We rode with the ´´pros´´ for a while ( Nick, John, Graeme) and it was good quick smooth riding apart from Graeme who is super slow in the corners.

Done 96 miles and stopped for a top up and a bite to eat (mini donuts mmm). Went through the centre of Salta ( not sure if we were supposed to) and then through some more extremely good twisty up and down mountain roads and then into another forest. We stopped just to chill out and listen to the sounds of the jungle. Usually all you here is wind and engine noise so its good to stop every now and again just to have some peace.

Going through Salta was a bit mental, it was super busy and as usual no roadsigns. We managed to navigate our way out using the compass and a bit of savvy. We had to do the same thing at San Salvador De Ju Jujuy. Argentina will always be remembered for wind and lack of road signage.

The last stretch of road was stunning as usual and there was a street procession on in the middle of nowhere with people playing instruments and wearing colourful clothing.

We passed a section of mountain that looked like hundreds of cathedral spires, haven't seen anything like that before.

Arrived at Tilcara at 3 and went straight to Posada Don Juan where we would stay for the night. It is a group of bungalows set on the hillside at 2500 metres. It is gorgeous and one of the best places we have stayed so far.

I walked down the extremely steep gravelly road to the town and into the Internet cafe and done a touch of blogging. Ran back up some of the hill to get dinner. Absolutely knackered after that  ( you try running up a hill at 2500 meters!) Went to a great authentic restaurant which was brightly coloured and had paintings and weird masks on the walls.

The 3 amigos were already in there and were very happy coz they had just eaten llama pasties (I thought they said lager pasties to start with which I thought odd). Had another nice meal and a few laughs at the staff trying to chase a dog out of the place then got puffed out walking back up the hill to the bungalow.

Another good day for the memory banks.

235 miles done.
