Today we packed up from the Cape Canaveral camp site ( Jetty Park) and headed of towards Orlando, Jo had done some research and wanted to visit some golf shops there. These shops have indoor driving ranges, and when the ball is hit a computer judges the distance, the height of the ball, and a bunch of other things like spin, club head speed, etc etc. Her intention was to try a few clubs with the expectation that a new set would be better than her current set which is four years old. Disappointedly or fortuatously , depending on your position, it was determined that there was no major leap in technology over the last four years.
Driving the rig thru Orlando was a bit nerve racking but never the less we encountered no serious problems, apart from a stint of extended reversing in a parking lot.
That afternoon, while driving to Dade City the skys clouded over, got real dark and we found ourselves in the middle of a severe storm, lightning, thunder and rain which the radio station said was falling at 15 inches an hour. Needless to say Jo talked me into pulling over into a carpark and while we waited for it to stop we saw a car accident!!! The rain was so heavy neither of us were willing to step outside the truck to enter the fifth wheel, so there we sat until we felt it was safe to continue.
Our goal for the evening was to get to The Travelers rest RV Resort, when we arrived we found a huge field adjacent to the golf course, and after some debate as to which orientation gave us the best view, we settled down for the evening.

Hi from Olynpia
Hi guys, it sounds to me as if you are getting some of our great miserable weather; I just got back from Eastern Washington and it was snowing there. Played in a Grandmothers tournament there....lots of old ladies.Today, actually, the sun is out, hurrah, won't last. Keep up the fun blog, it is great to follow your travels.
Love Sig
Aloha...sorry ...now Kia Ora
Hi Guys
Just caught up on all the blogs.Apart from a stormy beginning it all appears to be smooth running now.The Garmin we had in Aussi came with a MALE voice option...altho not a sexy French one(I thought at first you called it Sharman the Garmin but I see the spelling is different)The one in Aussi was a life saver to altho she had to 'recalculate' 3 times in a km at one stage.Out of the Melb streets was easier.
Had an awesome time in Maui and sorry to miss you after Nico caught you..went the next day but you weren't there.
Will try and catch you on skype this w/end
Love Chris and Sharman
