WHAT IT COSTS AND INCLUDES: US$ 16.35 NO internet
DEISEL PRICE: US$ 4.85
WHAT WE SAW: Kennedy Space Centre
OUR STORY:
Today was Brent's day; it was of to the space centre to see rockets and jet engines. We were not disappointed. The tour took us by bus around many of the major sights; the interesting thing is how far apart they are
Casually mentioned that the blast would kill you if you were within a short distance (cant remember how far exactly but it seemed quite a way, and then the sound waves would get you if you were even further, so bottom line is that nobody is closer than about three miles. Unfortunately the shuttle went up last week, but we were not prepared to rush the South to get here to see it, however when we arrived at the centre we were expecting a rocket to be launched, but as it happens someone screwed up and they have rescheduled the launch later in the week, and while it would be great to see we aren't prepared to wait around indefinitely.
Two things stand out for Brent, the enormous size of the Satin five rockets, the one that the Apollo missions used to get to the moon, they were truly enormous. The other was a 3D movie in the Imax filmed by the folk on the Space Station.
We eventually were "Spaced out" by 6pm having arrived at the Kennedy space centre at 8.30 am and left for our campground and some cool liquid refreshments.
