Saturday, June 7, 2008

DATE: Saturday, June 7, 2008
LOCATION: Cape Canaveral Florida.
MILES TRAVELLED: 182.41 mils in 4.5hrs and 20.8 gall
WHERE WE ARE STAYING: Jetty Point County Park
WHAT IT COSTS AND INCLUDES: US$ 17.00
DEISEL PRICE: US$ 4.80
WHAT WE SAW: Bear Crossings

OUR STORY: It was a pretty relaxed departure from Gainesville. We hadn't gone more than 5 miles when we passed a Junk yard.. It was a junk yard in the true sense of the word this person had everything. But most of it was junk!!! But Brent found a rubber mallet and I found a sauce pan and it all came to $ 4.00.
We drove through Datona and right past the the Datona 500 speedway. It was huge and every store you could think of was across the street. Does that mean while the men sit and watch cars go round and round the wives can have some retail therapy.
Other than Carmin not recognising the address where we are staying and I got us lost it was all pretty uneventful.
Tomorrow will be a big day at NASA. Rocket lau ch is set for 11:30 am

Just Catching Up
Hi Guys, We are just back from Connecticut and are enjoying reading about your adventures, most of which seem to be pretty good! Not counting your encounter with the US gestapo. Glad you finally got into the country legally, it must be nice to not have to think about it any more.
We have also started looking at campers, Bill is scouting the internet looking for deals. He has his eye on a couple of things in the Jacksonville area that look possible, an older truck and a truck camper to go with it. We really like the idea of having something we could tow a boat behind. So we may be back on the road again, even if they are just local roads!
