DATE: Thursday, June 5, 2008
LOCATION: Callahan Fl near Jacksonville Florida
MILES TRAVELLED: 85miles
WHERE WE ARE STAYING: Payne Prairie State Park
WHAT IT COSTS AND INCLUDES: US$ 16.00 Very clean
DEISEL PRICE: US$
WHAT WE SAW:. A burning truck on the state Hwy and Students at the University of Florida.
OUR STORY: Today is a travelling day which take us about an hour and a half. But shortly into the trip we could see really black smoke on the horizon and knew something was on fire. Have a look at the picture of what a Semi looks like burnt to the ground
Found the State park and set up. Also found out they have Bison (Buffalo) here so will have to see if we can find them
Into the city of Gainesville to see Chris Garland (Caylies ex) who is on scholarship at the University of Florida.
Chris was a wonderful guide and it was great to see him happy and enjoying the Florida sunshine.
Wonderful University and what catured our attention was the number of abandoned bikes at all the bike stands. You may ask how we knew they were abandoned well 7pm no classes and bikes rusted and minus a bike seat is pretty obvious.
We ate at the local Uni watering hole and enjoyed the warm balmy evening.
Plan on a lazy day tomorrow in Gainesville.
