Ponderosa RV Park
We eventually decided on a cheaper one that would not run the air conditioning as its so damn cold up here we don't need it... the heat works on propane thankfully! So $200 lighter we headed for the hills. It started to rain, of course, we arrived at the campground and tried to set up the generator under the awning out of the rain. It soon became apparent that we had not received the bag of parts we needed to set up the generator for the first time
We raced all the way back down the mountains in the rain and now dark to get the parts. By the time we were ready to leave the store again it was 830pm it was an hours drive or more back up the mountains!! We saw a sign for a KOA campground a few miles away and decided to call it quits for the day even though it would cost $50 for the night!
The KOA people gave us a stupid space that once Toby got it in the side out would not be able to come out and the trees had to be pruned in order for us to open the door. The young guy "assisting" us tried to tell Toby how to drive and park...... he regretted that.... then the hook ups were to far away for us to use so he said he would lend us extensions "at no extra charge". This was enough to send Brent over the edge.... we got a refund and left!!
It was now 930pm, dark and cold but the rain had stopped! We were tired and cranky now. Brent was able to get on the Internet in the car and found a place in Belt just 10 miles down the road. It was like a beacon of light, the camp owner was very friendly and helpful and had us in a full hook up site in 5 minutes flat!! We crashed into bed and vowed to forget the whole day.
