You could not imagine that such a gorgeous little places like Colonia del Sacramento was only an hours boat ride from the madness of Buenos Aires, this place is just heaven, if relaxation and no hustle bustle is what you are after you will love this place and it was just what mum and I were after after the heat and craziness of busy and large Buenos Aires!

Being able to hop between countries by a short boat ride is easy and enjoyable, so nice to not have to jump on a bus or plane!!!

Well we loved it here as soon as we stepped out of port onto the cobbled streets, there are golf buggies skooting around everywhere which you can hire but we decided you see more on foot anyway plus donīt trust mum or myself on one of those on these uneven surfaces jaja

As soon as we got do the front door at El Capullo our posada for 3 days we knew we were on to a good thing, it was SOOO lovely, and a nice change from hostels! So glad we decided to treat ourselves, GRACIAS mum! Mum had a quick nap and I of course headed straight to the pool, corona lounger sunshine BLISS in Colonia!

We were really excited about checking out the historical part of town and we saw a lot on the first night as we were just overwhelmed and to be honest it isn't large so we got around it pretty quick, it is amazing! And the sunsets, with dinner over champers on the first night went down a treat!

We really got amongst the no-stress laid back lifestyle that Uruguay is known for, and really just laxed and explored every inch of Colonia over the time we were here! We ate well like always,, the breakfast at El Capullo was superb so spent an hour at least at the brekky table every morning too jaja

We indulged in Milanesa too for lunch one day, a traditional Uruguayan meal! We went for the complete for 2 personas, check out the pics OH DIOS MIA! MASSIVEEEEEEEE we barely made a dent in it, it was impossible especially considering our 2 rather large appetites as well, I'm glad we tried it but doubt ill go there again! Or maybe without all the additional toppings that were not required, but then i guess it wouldnīt be Milanesa then right?

This place really is a step back in time, the streets, buildings, people everything is amazing! We definitely did not want to leave but knew we couldnīt sit here on our butts for too much longer as much more to see in Argentina!

Perfect stop even if only for a day trip from Buenos Aires, much cooler and intimate then that big city if you need an escape!
