After arriving at the Airport, we checked my luggage and boarded the plane for a short hour :15 flight to Songkhla. The flight was a bit 'bumpy' and Air Asia
We took a tuk-tuk
to drop off Charmaines friends then a short walk to get a taxi. A taxi ride to Songkhla was another adventure...more people dart in and out of traffic..
.and a common site is business women (almost wrote 'professional woman' but that has a whole nother meaning over here....) on scooters in High heels.....(Debbie Shaw would be so proud....)
After arriving at Charmaines home...a nice 3 bedroom home with a seperate guest house I got situated and Charmaine 'insisted' I take a nap while she prepared supper. Well I awoke to a violyn being played by Kokoy, Charmaines friend and a roomful of guest including Jove, and Mae Charmaines room mates, Delia Charmaines sister and Analy and Joana ....a nice supper with guest ! We had fish, rice a casserole and a vegstable dish all served traditionally (fish came with it's heads stil on....) It was wonderful!...Charmaine is a fantastic cook...ah...Good looking and a good cook. Mother I found a keeper. :)
Air Asia
has it stewardesses hawking promotional tee shirts and baseball caps on the flight...times must be tough for everyone....Well the new adventure was about to begin as i waited for my luggage at baggae claim...it wasn't there....yes the travelers nightmare.....well a few phone calls and a talk with Air Asia people...they found it waiting for the next flight in 3.5 hours....Well..since it was a :45 min trip to Charmaines...we decided to have lunch and wait. I did rememeber travel rule 101....no ice or water....Charmaine and I had fried rice and Chicken with cashew nuts aloing with Coke's newest marketing (sometimes Thailand is their test market') Coke Light (diet coke and coke zero combined?)
Charmaine and my coke lite
Lunch was good and a couple of Charmaines friends
Charmaines Friends
came out to meet "AMboy" Gigi and Maui, some of Charmaine's collegues at the school. ] My lugggage finally arrived....but with 'rips' in the canvas of my travel bag...nothing to serious...cheap bag I I guess but it was a bit disapointing as my luggage had made it this far fine. Air Asia compensated my claim and gave me 200 Baht...about $6 USD. but as nothing was lost...oh well I'll just fix it later...We took a tuk-tuk

Wow
Hi Shane,
I'm glad to hear that everything is going so well for you. It would be very easy to be dissappointed with the high expectations that you had.
I do have a question; was there an actual violinist in the room serendaing you, or was it a recording of a violin sonata being played? Either way is pretty impressive.
Hi Shane
Glad you had a safe trip. We were tracking you and I did receive the call that you had arrived safely.

Wonderful News!
I am glad to hear such wonderful news. She sounds like a keeper to me. The kids (dogs) are getting along fine. Nettie is trying to be boss, but Ruff is still boss at the moment. Ruff is back to eating just dry food so he is much better. Enjoy the rest of your trip, no worries here.

Greetings from the cold Midwest
Matt and I are reading your adventures this morning, over our hot cup of coffee as it is still quite freezing outside. I envy you in your warm part of the country. You guys are sooo cute together! I just LOVE stories of first dates, all the electricty in the air and stuff! We do recommend you get some sleep, you look happy but completely EXHAUSTED! Big hugs to Charmaine, can't wait until we can all meet!
