Our Yellowstone experience was a great beginning to, what would become, a jam packed ten days
. Everyday, awaited something spectacular to be discovered. We only spend a few days in Yellowstone, but ended up exploring almost the entire park! Which is a feat unto itself. Somewhere in there, we hiked eight miles a day, back-country camped on a gorgeous lake, saw bunches of wildlife, had roaring campfires, cooked great food, sampled the local homemade ice cream, and settled into a good routine.
We also ran into the Italians again. We bumped into them in Cody the morning Tami got in and I introduced everyone. Me aside, it was fun to see everyone communicating in anyway that would work. Later, at Old Faithful, we saw them again and had another nice visit with the couple.
If you get a chance to go, take the kids and spend a week in Yellowstone. I don't think I've ever been to a NP with some many things to see and try. It's such a big park, you could easily spend weeks just walking around in the Forrest, smelling the air and looking for animals. It's also a great place to see how Forest fires are helpful and how we should respect a natural fire for what it is: Nature saying it's time to clean house and let some new things grow up.
Before I start this entry, I want to pre-entry with a note. Before Tamami and I met up and started traveling together, the adventure was amazing. But with our re-connection, I found a new level of happiness. I am so grateful for the opportunity to experience, not only this adventure, but all the adventures, good and bad, that life gives us, with this woman. I always knew we would travel together well, but I was not prepared to find the level of understanding and commitment we share for each other. Also, understand, I am writing this entry after the fact, and Tami has already flown back to Atlanta and left me to continue into more uncharted waters. Which is why I write this: I feel blessed to have found an amazing woman, charged with the electricity of life, and an uncompromising support of faith and laughter. First, there was adventure. Then there was adventure with Tami; and nothing will be the same again.
