I'm sorry, but if anyone ever tells you New York City isn't the greatest city in the world, they have never been to Manhattan or they're a horrible liar.  I've been to Paris, Rome, and recently Chicago.  I've been to cities, and when it come to theatre and the Arts, music, people, energy, food, New York City is where the buck stops.

I arrived late Thursday night and was graciously given a place to sleep, and more importantly, a place to house my car while visiting the city, with two of my parents oldest friends and wonderful people.  A special thanks to Doug and Maria.  A quick bus ride into the city and I met up with my parents who are staying in a fantastic studio on West 45th between 8th and 9th.  Two blocks from Duffy Square!  Which is essentially Times Square and all the big Broadway theaters.  The most fantastic location to be in.  And at this time of the year!  The air is filled with the smell of flowers and foods and the city.  There's a breeze and the temperature hangs around 80.  I can tell, everyone is so happy to have the good weather and people are just enjoying the city that much more.

I got to see an old acting friend of mine and his new family, complete with super cute baby girl (see picture above).  We met up with a super old acting friend of my fathers for dinner and a visit.  And my parents and I went to a play, Accent on Youth, written in 1934 and revised for god only knows, but was a wonderful vehicle for David Hyde Pierce (Frasier's brother).  We had a great walked through the Park today, went to the zoo, practiced my Japanese at a great sushi restaurant and saw one of, if not, the best play I've ever seen.  August, Osage County - yes the tile is odd, but with Felicia Rashad and a star studded cast, it was awesome.  Unfortunately, it's closing this Sunday, so try and catch it if it comes through your town on tour.  Not for kids!  But it won the Pulitzer and is truly an awesome ride.  Oh yeah, we did the Metropolitan Museum of Art as well.  And I got a hair cut.  Just the way my Dad always wanted it.  I told him it was a belated Father's day gift.  And that's just two days!

Best city in the world.
