Little did I know the view would only be getting better as the day progressed. We arrived in a little town called Schierke. It was from here we would be making our journey to the top of the behemoth mountain called Brocken. We found a place to park and started hiking. Even though it was only about 10 km to the top of Brocken, it was 531 vertical meters from where we started. That makes for a rather hard hike! When we got to the top we went in the former Russian Satellite tower which is now a museum, and had a great outlook over the land. The way back we took a train to the bottom. On the way home we ate at an amazing little Italian Restaurant.

It was a foggy morning driving across the German countryside; you could not even see the tops of the wind turbines. It was like only being able to see the feet of giants looming over all the people below. A couple hours later we were driving through the mountains. This was an great drive absolutely amazing view of the earth below.
