. Walking up the drive, I was thinking that I am out of shape! Soon we came upon a cute house that was almost picture perfect. The owner showed us the inside of the house and where our bedrooms were. He also showed us the kitchen supplies that we were able to use while there. We ran into 2 couples that were sharing the house with us at the same time, as they were leaving for the day. We settled into our rooms, showered to freshen up and then we just relaxed. I went up to my bed and took a little nap, while we waited for Sashe's brother and his girlfriend to arrive.
Coming down stairs I came to the wonderful smells of grilling. Sashe and Andreja (his brother) grilled chicken, kebopi, and steak on a stick for all of us to eat. They also did something that was strange to me, they put butter on bread and some seasoning and put it on the grill. It sounds strange but very good. Beti( Andreja's girlfriend) asked me questions about how I like things here in Macedonia and if I plan to visit again. Then Marija asked me which of the brothers I thought was the cutest......Well, I just said I could not answer, because of the old saying "Don't bite the hand that feeds you!" Suzana said that I should go into politics for my diplomatic answer! Ha ha! Talking and laughing for a bit, Andreja and Beti had to get on the road to go back to Skopje. They said they will see me soon in Skopje for more good times.
Turning in for the night seemed relaxing for me and Marija said that it is quiet here so it could be good for your nerves. On the other hand it could be bad for your nerves because it is too quiet!
We left as early as possible to head for Berovo. Being a passenger and not driving, you see fantastic sites and weird thing along the way. Sashe stopped to show me a church that was built in the hill near Veles. There were many churches built that way in the time of enslavement of Macedonians by Turks. They built their churchs down in the valleys and hidden in the hills, so the Turks would not burn them or ruin them. Along the side of the road where we stopped there were also small churches for people to visit. Passing by the city of Veles, we went forward to the city of Kochani. We stopped to look at the lake and eat breakfast at Gradche Dam. We had Piroshka for breakfast, at first it looked like an eggroll but much better tasting. After breakfast we headed to Berovo. We had to stop in the town to get the key of our house from the owner. We came to a dirt drive way but we couldn't drive up it because the driveway was very dusty with loose dirt. So us girls got out of the car and walked up the driveway to our home for the next couple of days
