Woke up early to get my stuff together for a massive day heading to Wigan were I would see the stadium I have watched so much on tv. I got on the train, which took forty minutes to get there. Once I was there I went for a walk around the street and it seemed to be very similar to Manchester just on a smaller scale and the people were rougher. I found the bus station I hoped on a bus heading towards the red robin pub which was were I had to get off and walk two hundred meters to the stadium. When I first saw the stadium I have to admit I was a little bit excited, this was one stadium in the world that I wanted to see and I was actually looking at it. I already knew that I was not going to be able to do a tour as you have to book them and there wasn't enough interest on the days I had requested. I explained that I had come from Australia and they were very kind and took me pitch side, changing rooms, press room and to the directors box which was way more than I was expecting. After yesterday seeing the Manchester facilities you can tell the difference between the clubs. The next task was to secure myself a ticket to the game on the weekend, which would complete the dream. I found the ticket office and was able to secure myself a ticket to the game vs Aston villa on Saturday. From the stadium I headed back into the town to find the Lactics club store to do a bit of shopping I took me a while but I found it and walked out with a much lighter wallet. It was then time to find myself a traditional English lunch, which seemed to be anything that was greasy so I went for the fish and chips. Even though I hate it from a fish and chips shop this wasn’t too bad. I went for another walk around the city to see if there was anything in the city. I found a park that was alright but not looking its best. I walked around for a couple hours and saw most of the city. I got back on the train and headed back to my hostel and picked up some dinner on the way back. I sat down in the lounge room and watched stoke play in europa league qualifier with some pommy lads which was entertaining before I headed to bed.
