We decided to try to do a travel blog for this trip. You can subscribe to this blog (similar to my
podcasts) and you'll get an email whenever we update it from Argentina. We plan to upload our trip in text, photos and video.
Its Thursday night and we're trying to get all packed to prevent the inevitable "night before you leave and i forgot to buy something i needed" big trip panic.
That's not going so well so i thought i would procrastinate and write our first entry for our travel blog (We hope to add entries every couple days, but we'll see how that goes depending on wifi access).
After changing our itinerary about 15 times (we cut Chile out of the plan, which turned out to be a good idea considering the huge earthquake that hit there today) as we tried to balance seeing/doing it all with spending quality time in each spot we stopped. Argentina is HUGE (7th largest country in the world) so we'll have to get on a plane 3 more times within the country during our trip. So here is our tentative plan for Argentina.
Fri: Leave LAX (15 hour flight with stopover in Atlanta. bummer but free with miles)
Sat-Mon: Buenos Aires
Mon-Sat: Bariloche (we're staying in a friend's house on a lake)
Sat-Mon: Calafate (land of glaciers)
Mon-Sat: Buenos Aires
We arrive Saturday morning and already have tickets for a huge football match between Argentina and Bolivia (its a world cup qualifier) then off to a steak dinner.
Back to packing.

yay for BA!
Hi Brad and Lisa. I first went to BA for my birthday in the summer of 2006 - it was a big one - with my good friends Ann and Kerry. We had a blast! My friend Kerry loved it so much, she bought a condo there! Then she met her soul mate and I attended the wedding in San Telmo last Christmas.
I'm a little jealous of your Patagonia jaunt - it's gonna be awesome!
I have a few pics on flickr from BA (but only a sliver of what I shot) http://www.flickr.com/photos/cardinalbird/33849026/in/set-72057594096511543/. I will email you tonight with some suggestions of places to go...
i knew it'd be a late night last minute freakfest
I'm glad that Cori and I stayed in Hollywood that night and out of your hair! Happy trails to you...
