Being backpackers we are forever on a mission to find cheap and possibly free things to do and our mission to find free things to do in Sydney was successful. The Sydney festival is happening at the moment and on the first night of the festival there were free concerts all over the city centre so Brad and I made our way to the domain and started jamming with the locals to some unheard of local bands. It was great to be able to stroll through town and stumble on another interesting act. We weren't that well prepared because of all the laws here we weren't sure if you were allowed to bring some wine or beer to your picnic so we thought we had to be sneaky sneaky and we mixed some cheap and nasty vodka in a coke bottle. When we got to the park EVERYONE was drinking wine and beer openly as if they were in France! We just ended up being very thirsty at 9 o' clock! Good concert all the same!
We moved out of Kanga backpackers as we have been fortunate to make contact with friends of Simon and Anita - Chris and Jean. They have kindly let us stay with them in their home and now we are seeing what its like to live in the 'burbs of Sydney.
I like vegemite!
