Leaving South East Asia was never going to be easy, but arriving down under to the big fat smiling face of Turnstile Tait at the airport made it a whole lot easier. We arrived in Melbourne on the 23 and were welcomed to the strictest customs officials we have ever seen - it almost took us as long to get through all the ques and out of the airport as it did to fly there.

Eventually we did make it out and were warmly welcomed by a big abusive Tait...Let the debauchery begin!

On initial inspection Australia is really not too dissimilar from SA, besides the low walls and signs everywhere telling you what you can and more importantly cannot do. Unfortunately the weather was not fantastic and would stay so for a while.

After the initial excitement of arriving and meeting loads of the Tait relatives (and being taken in and looked after so well by Marks folks) a routine of socializing (drinking) fell into place (tis the season!!).

On that note: Merry Christmas to everyone, and we hope that you all had great feastive seasons.

Being away from home for so long now it really was fantastic to spend Christmas with close friends in a homely and family environment. Many many christmas presents for little Jackson, who has to be one of the cutest kids ever, resulted in an assult of constant noise (poor Mark and Rene - those presents are all going back to SA with them)

As with many christmas' too much food was eaten and booze drunk.. it is a good life (particularly after a diet of mainly rice and noodles for 2 months).
