Thai boxing is a hardcore sport. We bought tickets to watch 9 matches and the fighters ranged from 10 year old boys to women to veterans. Anyone of them would have knocked our heads off with one swift kick. The crowd really gets into it and when a local boxer is beating another fighter they all scream "ay ay ay" for every punch or kick the opponent receives. Pretty brutal. We on the other hand would back the boxer that looked the least likely to win because we felt sorry for them. That worked sometimes and other times they got their asses handed to them on a sweaty glove!
The last couple of days in Thailand were pretty chilled out. We had given a bit of business to a local restaurant owner who was the friendliest guy we have ever met. If you ever go to Ko Lanta be sure to eat at the restaurant called Food & Drink, next to the restaurant called Da's Kitchen on Long Beach. Good food and good people.
